Our Courses

If you are thinking about learning a new language, here are a few reasons why German will certainly be an excellent choice.
  • German is a distinctive language and has an enormous cultural heritage.
  • Knowledge of German can increase your job opportunities with German and foreign companies in India and abroad.
  • Germany awards a generous number of scholarships and other support to study in Germany. Knowing German will only increase your chances of winning a scholarship!
Our courses conform to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) that outlines the proficiency an individual can attain at each level. There are a total of six levels within the CEFR:
  • A1: Beginner/Breakthrough
  • A2: Basic/Waystage
  • B1: Lower Intermediate/Threshold
  • B2: Upper Intermediate/Vantage
  • C1: Advanced/Effective Operational Proficiency
  • C2: Mastery/Proficiency
Visit our CEFR Page to get details of the level of proficiency you can achieve on successful completion of each level.
To gain proficiency in German for the professional world, one needs to learn the language up to a minimum of B1 level. However, the exact proficiency requirement depends on the nature of your role and the requirements of your industry/organization. We recommend completing up to B2 level (and even beyond, if possible) for better career prospects in the long run.
While our teachers will closely track your progress in the class, to assess your progress more tangibly, we will conduct an exam after each module. For example, if you are doing the course for A2 level, we will conduct one exam at the end of A2.1 and the other one at the end of A2.2. After the first exam, you will have a short one-on-one feedback session with your teacher in which he/she will share concrete feedback about your strengths and areas of improvement, which will help you sharpen your focus on your growth areas and bridge the gaps (if any). Our teachers will assist you in achieving the goals you set for yourself after the feedback.
Based on your scores in our exams (please see the question above for details on our assessment process), your class performance and your attendance in the course (minimum requirement: 70%), you will be promoted to the next level. In case you are unable to meet any of these criteria, we recommend repeating the level to build a stronger foundation as gaps in the learnings from one particular level hamper the progress in the next level.
If you already know a little German, you can certainly join a higher level directly. In such a case, we need an exam certificate from the last six months. For example, if you wish to join our B2 directly, we’ll require a scan of your B1 exam certificate (not older than six months). If you took the last exam more than six months ago or do not have any exam certificate, we will conduct an assessment to find the right level for you. We do not charge any fee for this assessment.
The good thing about international certification exams is that it is not mandatory to take them after every level. We, in fact, recommend that you directly take the exam of the highest level you’ve attained. For example, if your target is B1, you can skip the international certification exam for A1 and A2 and appear for the B1 exam directly. This will also help you save a lot of time and money.
Our language school started in 2013, and many of our students have successfully used our letters of enrollment* and course completion certificates** at universities in Germany as well as organizations in India for official purposes. However, we recommend you take the certification exams at the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan if you need an international exam certificate for the processing of your visa, admission in a German university which specifically asks for it, etc.

**Sent via courier anywhere within India for online courses
We conduct special exam preparation classes for those appearing for international certification exams. These are offered as an additional package at a nominal fee. In these classes, we make you do about 10 sample papers for rigorous practice, and you learn the tips and tricks to ace the exam, time yourself well, etc.

We do not include intensive exam preparation in our courses because not all students take the international certification exams. In all our courses, we keep our focus on helping our students gain the requisite proficiency for a level.
We have special batches for students learning German in school. We also offer one-on-one classes in case you prefer those, and our recommendation then is only one class a week. However, the periodicity of the classes can be determined on a case-to-case basis. Please get in touch with us for further details.

Our Classes

The maximum number of students we take at the A1 level is restricted to 10 in a batch. From A2 level onwards our batch sizes can go up to 12. We do not exceed this under any circumstances. Our admissions are strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
Upon request, we can provide you a link to one of our ongoing sessions which you can attend for about 15 minutes to get a first-hand experience of our classes. Since these will be an ongoing session of any one our levels from A1 to B2, you may not be able to comprehend the content of the class. However, you could use it as an opportunity to experience the virtual classroom atmosphere, our interactive teaching methodology, etc. We do not organize separate demo classes.
After every class, you will receive an email from your teacher with an overview of the topics covered that day along with an explanation of new concepts with examples. To a large extent, these emails will help you cover up what you’ve missed. We recommend going through these emails even otherwise as they help in revising the contents of the class. In addition, if you’re doing an online course with us, you can request for a class recording (restricted to 5 per course). Please see the next question for more details.
If you cannot attend a class due to unavoidable circumstances, you are required to email your teacher in advance and request for a class recording. The teacher will record the session and share it with you on the email provided. However, please note that the number of recordings that can be shared with a student is restricted to 5 per course per level. We do not share the recordings of all our classes.
If you can commit to a fixed schedule, we recommend joining a group class as it gives you the opportunity to interact with other students and is more economical too. However, if your work schedule or other commitments do not allow for a regular course, we can certainly conduct private classes for you that can be customized to your need and schedule.
If you have enrolled for an online course with us, the course will continue and conclude online only, even if we resume our classroom programs during your course. However, for the next level, you can choose to enroll for a classroom program if that works better for you.

For the ease of students staying at distant locations, we will continue to offer online courses in the long term even after resuming classroom programs.

Course Material

If you enroll for a course right at the start of the level, i.e., in the first module, you need not pay extra for the study material. However, if you enroll in the second module of a course level*, then you will need to pay extra for the study material.

Even if you already have the proficiency of the first module of a level, we still recommend (without any compulsion) that you join from module one of that level as it helps you further strengthen your base, gets you up to speed with the course curriculum, and ensures a seamless transition into the second module.

*Please see: I already know a little German. Can I join a higher level directly?

Outside India
Upon completing the registration on our website, we will courier you a set of coursebook & workbook, glossary and CDs where the cost of shipping will need to be borne by you. The atmosphere in our classes is casual and friendly yet disciplined. Our interactive method encourages the students to speak as much as possible. The various games and activities used make sure that there is never a dull moment in the class. The medium of instruction switches to primarily German as the levels go up. We do, however, explain important concepts at the basic levels in English as well.
Yes, we give homework which works as a practice lesson for the students and at the same time enables the teacher to assess the understanding of the students. Learning a language requires effort on the part of the student as well. Only attending classes is not sufficient. It is essential that you practice on your own too and do your homework regularly.
