Learning German
I am looking to learn a foreign language.
Why should I learn German?
If you are thinking about
learning a new language, German will certainly be an excellent choice. German
is a very distinctive language and has an enormous cultural heritage. Knowledge
of German can increase your job opportunities with German and foreign companies
in India and abroad. It is the second most commonly used scientific language
and is the language of Goethe, Kafka, Mozart, Bach and Beethoven. Last but not
the least, Germany awards a generous number of scholarships and other support
to study in Germany. Knowing German will only increase your chances of winning
a scholarship!
I am going to Germany within the next two
months. How much can I learn?
If you attend a weekend
batch, you will be able to complete our A1.1 course, which is the first half of
the beginners’ level A1. On completing the level A1, a student can understand and use familiar everyday
expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a
concrete type; introduce himself/herself and others and can ask and answer
questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she
knows and things he/she has; and interact in a simple way provided the other
person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. For more details
about the levels, please refer to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
If you are a group of 5 or
more students with the same requirement, we can customize an intensive course
for you to help you cover the best you can subject to your availability. We
will weave in elements of intercultural skills to provide you a good functional
knowledge of the language. This will be a good survival kit for you in Germany.
How much German can I learn in one
course?
All our courses are in line
with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The level of proficiency
achieved on successful completion of each level is described in detail on our
page on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. For further
details, feel free to call or email or chat with us., or even better fix an
appointment with us for a free personal counseling session.
I already know a bit of German. What
level should I start?
We can answer this best
after a short telephonic conversation with you in German. If needed, we will
call you to one of our centers for a written assessment. We do not ask for any
certificates in support of the levels you have already completed. What is
important is that we place you at an appropriate level so that you are at par
with the other students attending the same level course.
My child has German as a subject in
school. How can you help?
For students learning
German in school, we can arrange for a home tutor (subject to availability). Please call or email or chat with us with details of your requirements.
How many levels are there in German? How
do you define your levels?
There are six levels in
German:
A1: Breakthrough or
beginner
A2: Waystage or elementary
B1: Threshold or
intermediate
B2: Vantage or upper
intermediate
C1: Effective operational
proficiency or advanced
C2: Mastery or proficiency
Our levels are in
accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages that describes
what a learner is supposed to be able to do in reading, listening, speaking and
writing after completing each level. For more details, refer to our page on the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

I have office on Saturdays. Do you have a Sunday-Only course for me?
No, we do not have any Sunday-Only course. Our classes are held on both Saturday and Sunday.
Do you have classes on weekdays too?
No, we are currently
not offering any weekday courses.
What is the maximum number of students in
a group class?

Dwarka: 12

Can I get a trial class?

better than joining a group class?
Yes, you can get one-on-one
lessons as well. These cost Rs. 1,000 – Rs. 1500 per hour (depending on level and location). We would, however, recommend
joining a group class since it gives you the opportunity to interact with other
students and enables you to hear and understand German spoken around you. If
your work schedule or other commitments do not allow for a regular course, you
can certainly avail private classes. Please call or email or chat with us. with the details
of your requirements.
What study materials do you give
learners?

We use the book Netzwerk A1
for the A1 course, Netzwerk A2 for the A2 course, Netzwerk B1 in the B1 course, Aspekte neu in the B2.1 course and Aspekte neu 2 in the B2.2
course. These are the same books as currently used by most German language institutes
across the globe. The books are supplemented by additional worksheets that
might be given from time to time.
What’s your method like? Will your course
make me feel like I’m back in school?
The atmosphere in our
classes is casual and friendly. The medium of instruction is primarily German from
day one. Our interactive method encourages the students to speak as much as
possible. The various games and exercises used make sure that there is never a
dull moment in the class.
Do you use English or Hindi in your
classes as your language of instruction?
Our main medium of
instruction is German and we try to keep it that way as much as possible. On
very few occasions do we use English or Hindi in the class.
Do you give your students homework? How
important is this for progress?
Yes, unfortunately we can’t
do without homework. Learning a language requires effort on the part of the
student as well. Only classroom learning is not sufficient. It is important
that the student practices at home.
Do you have native speakers as your
teachers?
Yes, we do currently have one
native speaker in our group of teachers.
Are your teachers qualified?
Yes, our teachers are
highly qualified, trained and have years of experience.

send a teacher to my place?

that. However, extra charges shall apply for that. Charges vary according to
location.
Do you offer corporate courses?
Yes, we do offer corporate courses. Please call or email us with the details
of your requirements.

We are currently not offering any online courses. However, in view of the increasing demand for such courses from students outside Delhi NCR, we do plan to launch online courses soon. Please email us the
details of your requirements (particularly location, time preference and level
of German) and we will get back to you.
I only have a couple of weeks to brush up
on German. Do you offer customized courses?
We do not offer courses to
brush up your language skills. Our courses are in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. However, if you are a group of 5 or more students with
the same requirement, we can consider customizing a short-term course for you.
Please call or email us with the details
of your requirements.
Do you have a test/exam at the end of the
course?
We take a small test at the end of the course. If you wish to take a Goethe Exam, then you can take one at Max Mueller Bhavan, Delhi after completing the course with us. We help our students with the registration process and also conduct special exam preparation classes to help them prepare for the exam. certificate help me with my job search?

a certificate if your attendance is more than 60%. Knowledge of a foreign
language will definitely give you an edge in the job market.
Does your certificate help with my visa
application for Germany?
